A carved dark stone, in the form of a tablet or board, drilled with two rows of four indents and two through-holes. Cross-hatch design across the top of the game board, and incised with intersecting lines on reverse.
Likely a form of Mancala, a game with obscure origins in Egypt that predate the Common Era and became popular throughout the Middle East and Africa.
A great object for study or display, this will make a nice addition to any student or appreciators collection of ancient art and artifacts.
Good condition with significant signs of deterioration and wear. Exhibits signs of age such as surface wear and weathering. As they are part of the description, please enlarge all photographs to better ascertain details and condition.
