    Based on Ed McBain's police procedural novels set in "The 87th Precinct" specifically the 1972 novel "Sadie When She Died," but not to be confused with the 1961-1962 television series also based on this series of novels and stories. The series takes place in Isola, a fictionalized district in a city much like New York City, with other corresponding districts representing the other four boroughs. The series takes a look at the gritty life of the cops of the 87th precinct and the troubles they deal with on a daily basis.
