    A dramatization of the experiences of Matthew Henson, who accompanied arctic explorer Robert Peary during his successful, groundbreaking 1909 expedition to the North Pole. In his later years Henson published a memoir titled "A Negro Explorer at the North Pole" (1912), and was awarded the Peary Polar Expedition Medal in 1944.
