Yonago Mingei - Oyama Hand Woven Hand Dyed Kusakizome THREE Japanese TextilesCirca 1959-1960
Kusaki-zome
Kusakizome is the name of the weave from Akira Yamazaki.
All of the pieces are dyed with natural plant dyes following ancient traditional processes. a craft that Yamazaki has named Kusaki-zome. The deep natural beauty of the colors produced by these natural plant dyes combine with rusticity of handpsun, handwoven texture of the fabrics to create a quite subdued charm entirely unique.
TRANSLATION
Plant dyeing Oyama hand-woven
This is a fabric that was born at the foot of Mt. Oyama Shuho.
On the basis of the old days, this was faithfully hand-dyed and hand-woven.
Brown color was from tea Spray and onions, yellow color was from Kariyasu, red was from iron , green was from okra, etc., and we use Seiai for blue.
We are so happy, if you like this weave and it comforts your busy schedule of every day.
Sincerely
Yonago Mingei Exhibition
